WE TASTE
Lime, basil, mint,
pepper and green tea
Usually whisky is had after dinner but this one we find more appropriate as an aperitif for bringing about forest-like freshness to the nose. It may be a tad bright on the palate for some with notes of mint and basil followed by pepper. Finally, a short green tea finish. Although it is currently a hot property that’s soaring in price, we hoped for the Hakushu 12 to be more complex and rounded. Would I ever have more? Yes, a serving to remind myself on how distinctive this single malt is but another whole bottle? Probably not.
