REVIEW: Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Wireless

MONDAY MAY 15, 2017

Grey and black is the norm in days of late, so it’s time for some Miami Vice white. Peeling the box open is as straightforward as things get where a carry case is presented with all its essential inside.

The Momentum 2.0 on-ear arrived looking seriously retro, in a good way but looks a tad brittle so handle with care. A slab of Alcantara has been used to rest on top of the head which looks as nice as it feels.

REVIEW: Sony MDR-1000X

This pair of Sennheiser looks miles better than its headphones of the old where they were a sea of boring black. Unfortunately, the Momentum's smaller ear cups just aren't as comfortable as those of the B&O H8.

As for the way it sounds, they sure are more interesting than QC35 from Bose with great highs together with lows but requires some polishing in the midrange. They too are unquestionably detailed, then again not as fast paced or separates sounds quite as well as the on-ear H8.

If comfort is what you’re after, opt for the over-ear version which is unfavourably more expensive. Get over that and one will be in for a treat to clear, characterful sounds with good looks to match.
