REVIEW: Bowers & Wilkins P5 Series II

MONDAY JULY 4, 2016

Truth be told, I was too on the GST craze prior to its implementation pondering upon what to purchase with money I don’t have, things that are more of a desire than necessity. Days before zero hour, it struck me where I believed I needed a new pair of headphones. So there I was hustling through Petaling Jaya’s unpredictable traffic to get a pair of Bowers & Wilkins P5. After all that, I thought to myself if it was worthy of all that time and effort.

bowers wilkins p5

Once out of the box, the P5’s construction genuinely oozes luxury where I've got people asking me if they cost twice the amount. In the hands, these headphones look and feel very much like a quality product thanks to the use of solid aluminum together with soft leather. As for the way it sounds, I don’t think it requires more recognition for being the best headphones from Bowers & Wilkins (alongside the P7). These P5s are great at replicating what artists intend their listeners to hear accompanied by bags of well-timed bass.

The P5s dimensions are compact, at the same time relatively light which is great for both at long hours listening good for home as well as traveling use. My faults or rather small ones with them are that they are a little tight while the sounds that it produces can be a tad more concentrated. That apart, I can't help but to love these headphones as they sound very good and are far better than Monster Beats Pro in every aspect. All in all, the P5s are great for all types of music.
