Rolex Daytona 2016

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

Rolex has done it again with their new Daytona, which still retains its 40mm case. However, the watch now features a Monobloc Cerachrom bezel which has several advantages like corrosion resistant, virtually scratch proof and they will not be affected under UV rays. Most importantly, being a certified Superlative Chronometer, the Daytona’s precision will be at +2/-2 seconds a day.

Tudor Black Bay Dark

Tudor Black Bay Dark

In contrast to the Bronze, the Dark has a slightly smaller case at 41mm. Not only that, the black finish contrasts the depth rating in red. Despite being around for decades, the Black Bay is PVD finished which reduces friction when come in contact with other metal objects. Best to pick metal bracelet which matches the satin finished case.

zenith el primero

Zenith El Primero 36,000 VPH

It is little wonder why every El Primero owners adore their Zenith so much, this is no different for its movement and tri-color sub dials. Good news is that the movement and the colour of the subsidiary dials stays in this Classic Car version. The only changes Zenith has made to this watch is the brushed engine finished dial which is a looker.

black bay bronze

Tudor Black Bay Bronze

The use of bronze is uncommon and is certainly one that makes things more interesting. One that was somewhat made famous by Panerai (check PAM382 and PAM507). Unfortunately, the Black Bay Bronze is at a large 43mm where wrist of smaller sizes can’t pull off.

Grand Seiko SBGD001

Linear sweeping hand, immaculate finishing but what interests me the most in the GS is the face that’s been sprinkled with diamond dust which echoes the finish on the Snowflake’s. Apart from its rather large proportions, it is only available in platinum and limited to 8 pieces worldwide.

speedmaster co axial

Omega Speedmaster Master Chronometer Co-Axial Chronograph

The long name aside, this Speedmaster has a well-balanced look with a beautiful moon phase complication with Buzz Aldrin’s footprint smacked in it. Despite its candy to the eyes look, it’ll take Nicol David‘s wrist to pull off this 44.25mm titan. If you still want one, you’ve got to wait till October.

rolex air king 2016

The Biggest Let-down: Rolex Air-King

Rejoice all, the Air King is back. Well, the name at least. Being a huge fan of the AK, I am not liking the latest rendition of the model aesthetically and I'll suggest the Mark 18 from IWC if an entry pilot watch is what you're after. After all the boys at Rolex should know better than we do.
